Forty years ago, in San Francisco, the rainbow flag, created by artist Gilbert Baker, became the symbol of the PRIDE movement. Under the same flag, thousands of people in San Francisco marched on the city streets advocating for the respect of the rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender persons.
In 2018, in Bucharest, under the same rainbow flag, the Bucharest Pride March will take place on Calea Victoriei.
