We welcome you, Sunday, August 8th at 19:00 at the exhibition opening “Our Queer Histories” at Cazul 101, Atelierele Malmaison. What is intimacy for the queer community? Which objects from your personal archive remind you of important moments of your LGBTQIA+ identity? This year, at Bucharest Pride 2021, we come together to explore what the history of our community means, beyond official archives or media representation. We have gathered objects, photographs and personal documents, from the intimate space of queer inidviduals, in a participatory exhibition which talks about the way in which all of our personal histories actually trace the history of Romania’s queer community.

This year, at Bucharest Pride 2021, we showcase objects, photographs and personal documents, from the intimate space of queer individuals, in a participatory exhibition. From photos from Bucharest Pride, to illustrations and collections inspired by moments of coming out and visibility, to the first costume in which we did drag, or the first shoes we did sex work in, we explore together what the recent history of our community means, beyond official archives or media representations.

People who will expose: Andrada and Ioana, Paul Muresan, Adrian Coman, Vergine Santa Frida, Reo, Antonella Lerca Duda, Stefania Mesteriuc, Gabriel Gherman, Cristi, Ghinea Stefania, Ioana Florescu, Alexandru-Daniel Tantu, Earowen, cerneala.inalta and Casiana, Alex, Damon, Billie Rose, Vlad Mot, Patrick Braila and others.

Exhibition curated by Alex Zorilă and Luca Istodor, Diana Dragomir.
The event is organized with the support of ACCEPT, within Bucharest Pride (6-14.08.2021). This year’s theme is ‘Come out. Speak up.’ In 2021 we celebrate 20 years since the repeal of Article 200 of the Penal Code which criminalized homosexuality and we take a look together at the evolution of our rights and communities over the last 20 years, trying to build together an inclusive and secure future for everyone. We are together again, building safe spaces in which our identity is celebrated.
