We will hold discussions centered on the right to family for same-sex couples in Germany, Ireland and Romania. What are the similarities, and what sets us apart?
If Germany and Ireland currently offer means to recognize same-sex couples, Romania not only lacks any form of legal protection for them, but also refuses to even recognize the documents of couples formed in other countries. In other words, any documentation attesting to the relationship of a same-sex couple is only valid until the couple reaches the Romanian border. Once in Romania, the same-sex couple is not recognized as a family, leading to numerous administrative aberrations, as well as plain injustices.
Speakers: Markus Löw (DE), Adian Coman (RO)
