Monday, August 9th , from 19:30, at Accept House/Filaret 16, we invite you, alongside a part of the members of the Queer Circle, at a poetry night – „În îmbrățișarea grupului țintă” (title taken from a poem belonging to Tudor Pop). We travel together through the reality and the imagination of queer individuals, with the help of a poetry night, which will light in us the emotion of finding ourselves again, of autoidentification, of hope for a kinder word. We create a space of our own and offer a platform to queer voices.
We are waiting for you, „în îmbrățișarea grupului țintă” all those who want to listen to verses which, we hope, will awaken in you the echo of recognition, of autoidentitication, of the common experience of being queer. In our writings, we approach subjects such as gender and sexual orientation, love and sex, ostracization and inclusion, things big and small which make up our life, our day to day joys and moments of sadness. We write about the personal and collective past towards obtaining healing. We create a space of our own. We trasncede the niche in which we were forces. We offer a platform to make everyone’s voice heard. We create milestones and we offer to those like ourselves the posibility to resonate/identitfy/ find themselves in our writings – something which we lacked until now. We imagine through our writings, a queer future, fair, free of restrictions and discrimination. We celebrate our existence and diversity.
They will read: Mișa Dragomir Mara Cioroianu Ada Eliane Nora Ugron Silvia Enache Cristina Mitroi Oana Giuverdea Flavius Sindie Razvan Andrei Eduard Lucian Ileana Negrea With recordings from: Tudor Pop Iulia Militaru Anca Gusti The event is organized with the support of ACCEPT, within Bucharest Pride (6-14.08.2021). This year’s theme is ‘Come out. Speak up.’
In 2021 we celebrate 20 years since the repeal of Article 200 of the Penal Code which criminalized homosexuality and we take a look together at the evolution of our rights and communities over the last 20 years, trying to build together an inclusive and secure future for everyone. We are together again, building safe spaces in which our identity is celebrated.
