Lil’ Paris is Burning – POSE (ep. 3, sezon nou)

Friday, August 13th 2021, starting from 6pm at Apollo 111, Lil’ Paris is Burning – POSE (new season, ep. 3). In the 1980’s, ballrooms have flourished as an underground movement of the US LGBTQ+ community. Drastically affected by the poverty, discrimination and the yet uncurable AIDS epidemy, trans and queer folks have built a safe space for them to manifest freely. Starting here, these events became a form of radical resistance against homophobia, transphobia and racism. We celebrate the ballroom culture through the third edition of “Lil’ Paris is Burning- POSE” (New season) at the 2021 Bucharest Pride. DJs: Lili Putana & Eugen Rădulescu. Free entrance. The event is organised with the help of Accept Association, at Bucharest Pride (6th-14th August 2021). This year’s theme is “Come Out. Speak Up.” In 2021 we celebrate 20 years since Article 200 has been repealed from the Penal Code, which incriminated homosexuality, and we take a look back to the evolution of our rights and community during these past 20 years, aiming to build together safe, inclusive future for each and every one of us. Together once again, building safe spaces where our identity is celebrated.
