Curator: Sandra Demetrescu
An event organized by ACCEPT Romania, with the support of MNAC Bucharest.
Exhibition opening: MNAC Bucharest | 06.06.2018 | 7:00 PM
Visiting period: 06.06 – 13.06.2018, during the museum visiting hours.
The N•A•K•E•D project gives a voice and a face to those men hated by 6 out of 10 Romanians. Tiberiu Căpudean photographed and gathered the stories of over 200 gay and bisexual men in various parts of the world. Each man who joined the project talks about how he experienced homophobia, xenophobia, racism, body shaming or ageism first hand.
Men of different ages, belonging to very different social classes and professions — from doctors and biochemists to store clerks, lawyers, tailors, and students — told their stories and granted permission to be photographed, even if the majority doesn’t fit the conventional norms of male beauty. The first selection of works is presented at MNAC Bucharest in the frame of Bucharest Pride 2018. Future exhibits are already scheduled at Rainbow House (Brussels) and Matadero (Madrid).
We’ll relax the body with fluid, electronic soul and future beats sounds provided by Andreea Veder.
Car access is made on the A1 Gate (entrance to the Senate) and B3 (museum entrance), while the exit is made through the entrance to the museum. Pedestrian access remains unchanged.
